In My Reverie

Nubble Lighthouse, Cape Neddick, Maine.

This gem has been photographed probably as many times as Horseshoe Bend in Arizona. In recent years, because of masterful works of many Maine and New Hampshire photographers, it has become a great subject to shoot at night, due to its dark location, ability to shoot east (especially in February and early March when Milky Way hangs low to the horizon) and simply because it's so beautiful and cool with its lights, structure, etc.  It took me a couple of years to get the shot I am happy with.  It is way early in the morning, also close to 0 degrees or 10 below, with an iced up puddle in the foreground (as are pretty much, all the rocks around me). Venus is rising (on the right) and I got lucky, a little shooting star right above the lighthouse.
